Hot, Medium or Mild? How to Get the Spice Levels of Your Sishebo Just Right

25 July 2016

Whether you prefer a mild, creamy sishebo, or whether you can’t get enough of that trademark spicy kick, we have some tips to share with you on how to effortlessly control the level of spiciness when preparing your favourite meals.

HOT

If there are going to be children enjoying your delicious sishebo, it might be wise to steer clear of anything too spicy. However, if you know that you will only be catering for adults – and you are sure that they all have brave palates – feel free to get creative and go the extra mile in order to ‘spice things up’.

If you are a well-practiced home chef, you will already be aware of the fact that no sishebo is complete without the classic sishebo mix of spices – which always includes a generous sprinkling of Rajah Curry Powder. For creating ultra-hot dishes, we recommend Rajah Hot Curry Powder. Although still chockfull of the decadent flavour for which the Rajah brand is so well known, this product also contains a liberal amount of chilli, cloves and paprika, all of which help to increase the spice level of your sishebo. Just one tablespoon should do the trick – just be sure to keep some water or milk for your guests close at hand!

MEDIUM

This type of sishebo is probably the most popular, as it offers the best of both worlds – mountains of flavour with just enough of a spicy kick to tantalise the taste buds. You will find that most of the sishebo recipes on the Your Perfect Sishebo website recommend the use of Rajah Mild and Spicy Curry Powder. It is this product that will make it possible for you to achieve the delicate balance between flavour and spice. Containing celery, ginger, cassia, along with a dainty touch of chilli, it is all that you need to ensure that your meal is one that your guests won’t be quick to forget.

MILD

As already mentioned, mild sishebos are definitely more child-friendly than their spicier counterparts. Knowing this, if your dinner guests include younger kids, it would be best to keep your sishebo’s spice levels as low as possible. The question is – how do you do this without compromising on taste? With Rajah Flavourful & Mild Curry Powder, of course! The secret to this product is the fact that it contains curry leaves, as opposed chillies, thus creating an irresistible flavour without assaulting those delicate taste buds.

Now that you know how to maintain control over the spiciness of your favourite beef, chicken and lamb sishebos, it is time to get cooking! Don’t forget to refer to the Your Perfect Sishebo website for more helpful tips and mouth-watering recipes.
