Savoury Rice

Prep 10 Mins, Cook 30 Mins, 9 Ingredients, Serves: 4 - 6

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. (15 ml) cooking oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 ml) Rajah Medium Curry Powder
  • 1 Tbsp (15 ml) Robertsons Spice for Rice
  • 2 cups (420 g) white rice
  • 4 cups (1 L) of water
  • 1 Knorrox Chicken Stock Cube
  • 1 cup (150 g) frozen mixed vegetables

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pot and fry onion and green pepper until soft.
  • Add the Rajah Medium Curry Powder and Robertsons Spice for Rice and fry for 1 minute stirring continuously.
  • Add the rice, water and Knorrox Chicken Stock Cube, stir well and bring to the boil.
  • Once boiling, turn down the heat and allow to simmer for 10 minutes or until the rice is tender.
  • Add the frozen mixed vegetables and allow to simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Serve with fried fish, chops or your favourite dish.
