Sugar Bean and Trotter Sishebo

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (400 g) sugar beans
  • 6 pork trotters, cleaned and cut in half
  • 2 tsp. (10 ml) Robertsons Crushed
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 ml) cooking oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • ½ green pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) Robertsons Barbeque Spice
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 Knorrox Beef Stock Cube
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 ml) Knorr Chilli Beef & Vegetable Soup

Instructions

  • Boil sugar beans until soft and drain.
  • In a separate pot boil trotters with 1 teaspoon of Robertsons Crushed Garlic, until the meat is tender.
  • When the sugar beans and trotters are cooked, heat oil in a pot and gently fry the onion and green pepper with the remaining crushed garlic until soft.
  • Add the Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder, Robertsons Barbecue Spice and tomato and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add the trotters and fry until well browned.
  • Add the cooked sugar beans, Knorrox Beef Stock Cube and water, stir well and allow to simmer for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Just before serving mix the Knorr Chilli Beef & Vegetable Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to form a smooth paste, add it to the pot and allow to simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
  • Serve with pap or rice.
